This Blog has many photos of cakes that we (Ariana and Corryn) constructed and designed. Many of them are created for our family and friends. We made all of these cakes from home and created each one with our own original design. We hope that you like them!

Candy Land Cake!
I made this cake for my friend Rachel's 17th birthday. This is a red velvet cake with swiss meringue buttercream. The cake is designed to look like a candy land board. The "path" normally on candy land is made of starbursts and the peppermint village is candy canes and coconut. There is also a peanut brittle house, a lollipop forest, and the ice cream cone kingdom. The ice cream cones are filled with cake (crumbled up and stuffed inside) and topped off with frosting to look like ice cream. The edge of the cake is surrounded in peanut M&Ms and dots. No doubt the sweetest cake I have made so far!
Harry Potter Cake II
I made this cake for my friend Franny's 17th birthday. This is my second Harry Potter cake so I wanted to do something a little different and make it in the shape of a book. This cake is red velvet with cream cheese frosting (aka the best). The cake is covered in white fondant and brushed with brown food coloring mixed with vodka. The wand, sorting hat, and gryffindor scarf are made of colored fondant. The yellow letters are made from melted chocolate. I hope you Harry Potter fans enjoy this!

Race Car Cake
We made this cake for a boy who is a huge Cars fan (you know the movie?). This is a carrot cake with strawberry buttercream filing. The cake is covered in blue meringue buttercream and decorated with vanilla decorating icing. The cars you see on top are made from modeling chocolate (a combination of chocolate melts and light corn syrup) and on the sides of the cake are chocolate cars. Happy birthday Oswaldo!

Kendall's Red Velvet Cake
I made this cake for my friend Kendall who was turning 17 years old. Having a sophisticated palette, she chose red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting (my personal favorite). This cake is covered in red/magenta colored fondant and the white flowers were piped in decorating icing. Using a paint brush, I slightly brushed the icing to give the flowers more of a petal look. Happy Birthday Kendall I hope you liked your cake!
Italian Soccer Cake
This cake was for a huge fan of the Italian National football team. The cake is dark chocolate with chocolate fudge filling. We decorated the cake like the flag of Italy but used a grass tip so the frosting would look like grass. We made the soccer goals from white chocolate, making each side of the goal individually and then arranging it into a goal. Using black fondant, we cut out letters to say Happy Birthday Sam!
Harry Potter Cake!
We made this cake for our friend Anna who is obsessed with Harry Potter. This is a red velvet cake with gold colored cream cheese frosting to resemble Gryffindor colors. After dirty icing the cake, we covered it in gold colored fondant. On top of the cake is a Gryffindor scarf, the "golden snitch", the "sorting hat", and the "elder wand," all made out of fondant. By marbling dark brown and light brown fondant, we were able to create a wood grain pattern for the wand. The note on top of the cake is made from thinly rolled fondant. In food coloring with a paint brush, we wrote Happy Birthday Anna. We hope you Harry Potter fans liked this cake!

Cherry Blossom Cake
For my friend Mia's birthday, I made a lavender cherry blossom cake. This is lemon cake with a coconut butter cream filling. We covered this cake in lavender colored vanilla fondant. The "branches" are made from brown fondant and the blossoms are white fondant cut out with a cookie cutter. Mia is written in white chocolate on the top. Around the base of the cake, we sprayed pearl coloring and finished it off with coconut frosting piped around the bottom.
♫ iPod Cake ♫
This cake was for my music-loving friend Makenzy. She wanted a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. The peanut butter filling was a basic butter cream frosting with peanut butter and pieces of reeses cups. This cake is shaped like an iPod mini and covered in light blue fondant and detailed with black frosting.
Pumas Soccer Cake
We made this cake for the end of Corryn's soccer team's season. This cake was half chocolate cake (recipe adapted from http://sweetapolita.com/2011/08/sweet-salty-salted-caramel-chocolate-fudge-cake/) and half vanilla cake with chocolate frosting as filling. We decorated the cake in coloring frosting using a piping bag with a grass tip. The word Pumas is written in white chocolate and the soccer goals are also constructed of white chocolate.

Thanksgiving Cake
We made this cake for our family on Thanksgiving! This cake is pumpkin spice cake with a cinnamon cream cheese filling. The cake is covered in dark red fondant with dark brown branches we made by rolling the fondant in thin strips. The leaves are fondant cut out with a cookie cutter and dusted with some coloring powder and pearl dust. We attached the leaves with white frosting on the branches. Along the base of the cake is a fondant border we made using a mold and then painted it gold with edible food coloring. The letters on the top of the cake are also made of fondant which we lightly painted gold.
Frisbee Cake!
We made this cake for a boy in our advisory who was turning 17 years old. He is a huge ultimate frisbee fan so we thought this would be perfect for him. This is white cake with chocolate filling. We frosted the entire cake in blue buttercream frosting and piped green buttercream as grass. The jumping man in the center is made out of dark chocolate.
Tiger Cake
This cake was for a girl turning 16 that loved tigers. This cake is white cake with blueberry cheese cake filling. For this filling, we made a cheesecake filling and spread it on both sides of the layers of cake. Then, we put in a blueberry filling with blueberries and blueberry syrup in between the cheesecake spread on each layer, stacking the cakes on top of each other. The cake was then covered in blue buttercream frosting with green chocolate swirls around the sides. We put a giant chocolate tiger face in the center and added edible silver balls on the 16!
Rose Cake
I made this cake for my friend Samantha who was turning 18. The cake is made from vanilla cake that is died purple and pink buttercream frosting. The outside of the cake is frosted in this same pink buttercream. The roses on the cake are made from pink and red decorating icing. You can get red edges on your rose like this by putting a line of red food coloring down the side of the decorating bag. In addition to the roses, I piped white buttercream dots around the cake with a round piping tip.
Tinker Bell Cake
My sister and I made this fairy/tinker bell themed cake for a girl turning 10 years old. This cake is vanilla cake with a strawberry cream filling. The strawberry filling is a combination of buttercream frosting, strawberry syrup, and strawberry pieces. The cake is iced in different colors of buttercream frosting. We marbled the frosting together by applying different colors of the frosting and swirled them together with a hot knife. In the center of the cake is a chocolate tinker bell (she is fragile, notice we accidentally broke her knees). On the side of the cake, we put chocolate butter flies. As a finishing touch, we sprinkled edible silver hearts on top of the cake.
